Shop-made san-mai with pattern-welded soft iron and pure nickel cladding. Full convex grind, and about as thin as I go. The high nickel layer count gives the blade some elasticity at this geometry, and it moves through hard produce almost from tip to heel.
The finish was refined on stones, blended with abrasive papers, then finger-stoned and blended with uchigumori powder. A jar of uchigumori powder is included for easy maintenance. The grind suits a right-handed user but will also perform well for left-handers, especially at this thin geometry. The handle is ancient red gum, which shows lovely detail in sunlight.
